Tips on Tuesday

For today’s Tip we’re going to share a generic social media tip.

Don’t forget to have your website linked from your social media profile and vice versa.  You want to make it easy for people to find you – don’t make them work for it!  Make sure your social media channels are linked from your website (and do ensure they open in a new tab/window!) and make sure your social media profiles contain at the very least an obvious website link.

Don’t be bashful – be seen!

Tips on Tuesday

For today’s Tip we’re going to be looking at making your Facebook profile just a little more approachable.

Image of a Facebook MilestoneWe’re a big fan of the milestone facility on Facebook; we think it adds a touch of personality to let your followers know what you’re up to.

They’re easy to create and – if you feel your Facebook page is quite dry with basic information – give a little more colour and emotion.

Create them by clicking on the three little dots next to the share button and adding the information therein.  The great think is you can add them retrospectively – so spend five minutes filling in your milestones and plumping up your profile!

Tips on Tuesday

For today’s tip we’re going to take a look at Facebook.

Although only a small tip, we believe it is really important to have the Messenger feature on Facebook activated on your business page.

Although it is another form of contact to manage, it gives potential customers another method to get in touch with you.  If a customer is already on your page on Facebook, you have made good progress – it seems counterproductive to ask them to leave Facebook and go elsewhere to Contact You!

You can always set up your account so you receive notifications of new messages – and remember, if you respond quickly you turn on the 100% response rate badge!

Tips on Tuesday

During our Tips on Tuesday segment we like to give as many helpful tips as possible surrounding digital marketing and social media.  Today’s tip is a generic one covering all your social media channels.

Image of all social media iconsIf you have a social media presence, don’t forget to put your social media handles on your marketing literature!

Have them on your business cards, flyers, website etc.  If you have a presence you want to use it and drive people to find you.  Don’t make potential clients or customers work to find you.  Make it easy for them and it will pay off!

Tips on Tuesday

For today’s Tip on Tuesday we’re going to be looking at Facebook.

Facebook Aire Media Blog

A small tip today but a very important one.  If you’re doing a Facebook update that contains a link, make sure that the link is included in the post before the 5th line of text.  The end of the 5th line is where Facebook cuts the post and adds the “See more” action.

You want to make following links easy for the people reading so don’t require them to “See more” before they can follow your call to action.

Tips on Tuesday

There wasn’t really anything else we could talk about today on Tips on Tuesday – a generic tip to help you out on all your social media channels.

Heart picture

So today’s tip is, if you like what someone is doing on social media TELL them.  Everyone likes to know they’re impressing someone, so whether it is another business, or an individual pop a comment on.  It is a great way of making links and you can be sure that if you say to someone “hey, we love what you’re doing here”, they will look at your profile and take the time to reciprocate.

Happy social media love in all!

Tips on Tuesday

Straight into February with a Tip on Tuesday where we specifically look at Facebook.

Facebook Aire Media Blog

Competitions on Facebook are a great way of becoming visible in people’s timelines and increasing your followers.  However, Facebook do have some rules about the implementation of competitions and it is important you follow these properly: –

  • You can only host a competition from a business page timeline or a custom Facebook page/campaign page.
  • We have created this handy graphic as to what you can and can’t ask people to do to enter a competition

Facebook Competition Rules

  • Facebook competitions must contain the rules and the terms and conditions of entry
  • Facebook competition must clearly state they’re not endorsed by Facebook and that Facebook cannot be held liable for anything in that regard.
  • Contact your winners in a status update or a comment on the page or send an email to the address provided on entry.

So do a competition, have fun with it but do it properly – there’s nothing worse than a competition being pulled because it doesn’t comply with the rules.

Tips on Tuesday

In January we have been looking at the importance of organisation in respect of your social media and digital marketing programmes in our Tips on Tuesday segment.  In previous posts we have look at the need to organise your schedule, the importance of allocating roles effectively, an emphasis on reviewing your programme, and the crucial checking for notifications!

Image of definition of organisation

For our final tip in this series we’re going to remind you of the importance of knowing what other members of your team have posted!  There’s nothing more off-putting to your followers than having the same content posted repeatedly.  If you lose a follower you will have to work very hard to try to get them back!

Keep it unique, make it interesting and you can’t go far wrong!

Tips on Tuesday

January seems to be flying by at an alarming rate and we hope you’re putting into practice our advice from our new year series on Organisation.  The first parts of the series can be found HERE (where we talk about organising your schedule), HERE (where we discuss allocating roles effectively) and HERE (where we look at reviewing your processes).

For today’s tip we’re advising you to make sure you ALWAYS find time to check social media for notifications.

We advise spending a few minutes each day just checking to see whether you have any notifications on your social media channels.  This doesn’t need to be scheduled into your social media plan as it can be somewhat of a moveable feast, but its important that you regularly check and respond to those that need responding to.

You don’t want to miss out on potential clients by missing them contacting you on your social media.

We’ll be back next week with the final of our January tips .

Tips on Tuesday

As you know for Tips on Tuesday throughout January we’re working on an organisation theme, the first two tips can be found HERE and HERE.

Continuing with the theme to help you aim for an efficient and effective 2017, our tip today is review.  Whilst it is so important to actually have a social media presence, it is equally important to know that you’re doing it right.  A poor executed social media account can be as off-putting to potential customers as not having one at all.

Schedule regular reviews throughout the year to look into what you’re doing, find out which posts performed best and play with your upcoming posts to do more of the same.  If you find a post that didn’t work well, try to determine why so you can avoid making the same mistake!

Keep your content crisp and effective to be noticed.
