Tips on Tuesday

Today’s tip is really simple.

MAKE CONNECTIONS.  And that is really it.  In every part of our life we need connections to grow and succeed – and the advent of social media has really make it easy for us to grow our business connections.

Build a network quote

If you’re more of a face to face networker then find your place to make those valuable connections.

Join us tomorrow at the Bingley Business Expo to make some amazing local relationships.

Do not underestimate the power that can be gained by gaining a new connection.

Tips on Tuesday

Today’s Tip on Tuesday is looking at how valuable a resource LinkedIn can be if used correctly.

LinkedIn LogoLinkedIn is slightly different from other social media channels in that it is more geared towards B2B and freelancers making professional contacts.  In that case it is far more important to keep a more professional tone on LinkedIn.  That isn’t to say you can’t use humour, but keep it light.

You can use your other social media channels to showcase the fun side of you or your business but LinkedIn is about sharing valuable advice between experts and professionals.  Don’t be afraid to do so!

Tips on Tuesday

There wasn’t really anything else we could talk about today on Tips on Tuesday – a generic tip to help you out on all your social media channels.

Heart picture

So today’s tip is, if you like what someone is doing on social media TELL them.  Everyone likes to know they’re impressing someone, so whether it is another business, or an individual pop a comment on.  It is a great way of making links and you can be sure that if you say to someone “hey, we love what you’re doing here”, they will look at your profile and take the time to reciprocate.

Happy social media love in all!

Tips on Tuesday

For today’s Tip on Tuesday we’re going to make a suggestion for LinkedIn.

LinkedIn Logo for Aire Media

Do remember that LinkedIn has a facility where you can join groups relevant to your sector and chat with other professionals.  LinkedIn is slightly different from other social media platforms in that it is geared towards business use only, In fact it is marketed as “the world’s largest professional network”. As such it is a valuable resource for discussing ideas, sharing expertise and above all making good business links.

Have a search today for some groups that seem pertinent to your line of business and join in!  Share your best tips or ask a question.  You will soon see how easy it is to participate in online networking!

Tips on Tuesday

A more positive Tip than last week’s today and one that can apply to all your social media marketing (and indeed can be extrapolated to apply to your full marketing plan).

Audit image Aire Media

Our Tip on Tuesday today is do a regular audit of your marketing strategy.  Don’t be satisfied with simply posting on social media, regularly take the time to find out what works well, what doesn’t work so well and whether any of your posts created problems.

In order to keep a fresh and vibrant social media presence you need to ensure your profiles are the best they can be, so do take time once a month to review and reflect and make those changes to keep you ahead of the game.

See you next week – and happy reviewing!

Tips on Tuesday

Today’s tip is a bit more generic than usual but an important one we think.

Aire Media Word Cloud

Today we would like to impress upon you all the benefits of digital marketing.   A small part of digital marketing is social media which gives you the chance to reach a large market.  And best of all, if your budget is small you can – with careful usage – do this for free!

Social media is a free, instantly accessible global market.  And the best thing is that it is measurable with analytics tools, so you can see whether what you’re doing is working and what you need to change or do better.

Even if you don’t have a large marketing budget do make sure you tap into the digital marketing sector and get yourselves online, out there and be a global brand.

See you next week!

Tips on Tuesday

Today’s tip is specific to Twitter.

Today we’re going to suggest to all smaller businesses to get involved with local hours on Twitter.  These tend to be a weekly event, usually lasting an hour and curated under the umbrella of a single parent account.

These hours are very useful as a free networking tool and very easy to become involved in.   So have a search, see whether there are any you can become involved in and if not start your own!  We definitely recommend taking the time to see what wonderful opportunities to find out about other local businesses these hours give you.

Some of the hours local to us at Aire Media are: –

#ilkleyhour – Monday 7-8pm

#otleyhour – Thursday 7-8pm

#yorkshirehour – Wednesday 8-9pm

#skiptonhour – Tuesday 9-10pm

#bradfordhour – Thursday 8-9pm

#bingleyhour – Tuesday 8-9pm

It is our very first time currating #bingleyhour tonight.  Find us at @BingleyHour or via @Aire_Media and come and get involved!

Tips on Tuesday

Doesn’t Tuesday come round quickly?  Here we are with another of our helpful tips to keep you on top of the social media marketing game.

Today we want to impress upon you the importance of not making your social media feeds all about you!

Whilst it is so tempting to promote who you are and what you do, you need to make sure you’re delivering good content, not just spam.   Engage with people, share other content you find interesting or useful.  The idea behind social media is all about creating symbiotic relationships – which means that you have to do your bit in nurturing these.

Remember, it only takes one click for someone to unfollow you.  Don’t let that happen!

We look forward to seeing you again next week for some more tips!

Tips on Tuesday

We’re back on a very scorching Tuesday to take some of the heat off you in terms of your social media posts!

We strongly advocate having a social media schedule, we think its important, especially for a small business with a limited budget, to use marketing time wisely and to know what will be posted and when.

However, don’t be afraid of spontaneity and creativity.   If something is unfolding on social media don’t be afraid to participate, make use of it, tap into trending topics.

It is important to keep a sense of relevance to your own personal brand – but taking a chance here and there with your social media presence might just reap very good rewards.

Women on Wednesday

To say we had spent a long time trying to think of a clever alliterative title to match our Tips on Tuesday slot would be an understatement.  Especially when we had overlooked the perfect “Women on Wednesday”.

Today was the very first meeting of the West Yorkshire Ladies Mean Business group – you can find us all on here.  A big thank you firstly to Rebecca and Emma for arranging the event and to Myrtle Perk in Bingley for accommodating us.

Today we met with several inspirational business women who for many reasons have changed their direction and their careers and started up their own businesses.  We really enjoyed the event – why not take a few moments to have a look and see who we met: –

Rebecca – who runs a Forever Living franchise.  Find out more about her and her story here. Rebecca is also the brains and power behing the West Yorkshire Ladies Mean Business group.

Julie – who decided enough was enough in her previous career – but then needed something to excite and fill up her time.  She is a Party Lite consultant – have a look at what she can offer.  Incidentally Julie offers the most innovative – and best smelling – business cards we have received to date, in a perfect little package with two lovely candles.

Sadie runs her own photography business, Peppermint Creative,  doing shoots from boudoir to babies, weddings to portraits and everything in between.  Have a look at some of her stunning photos.

Michelle had the wealth of experience we were all there to hear about having run a family business, Pink Pineapple, for over 20 years.  With products from greetings cards to bunting to homewares and gifts, there’s pretty much something for everyone at Pink Pineapple!

Nicola at Barking Mad , which we think is a fabulous and memorable name, who runs lovely home from home boarding for dogs.  What better way to relax on holiday than knowing your beloved pet is having a holiday too?!

Jan was representing Liberties & Co, a local nail, hair and beauty salon which she runs with her daughter.  Having heard about the wealth of treatments they offer, and the beautiful premises they operate from, we will be booking a treatment or two soon.  Why not see what they offer?

Melissa – runs a fabulous shop called Little Annie-Bets making stunning and unique accessories.  And there’s glitter.  Lots and lots of glitter.

Samantha has just started her own cupcake business and makes delightful and delicious looking treats which you can see here In a twist we really like, Samantha also runs Cupcake Cottage which does baking lessons for small groups.

Emma runs her own virtual assistant business.  As she rightly said, all her clients come to her via word of mouth, but we understand she will have a website up and running very soon.  If anyone would be interested in talking to Emma, please do let us know and we will put you in touch with her.

As you can see, we have a wealth of very talented ladies in such a small locality.  All I can say is that it seems like West Yorkshire ladies really do mean business!
