Tips on Tuesday

A slight deviation from our usual brand of tips, but a subject close to our heart!

We are part of the team (along with ES Editorial) who created and deliver Bingley Business Expo.

Bingley Business Expo

The mission behind Bingley Business Expo is to showcase the skills, expertise and services of those businesses based in Bingley and the Aire Valley, with the event established to provide a platform in which local business can showcase their offering to both the local and wider business community.

Our aim is to not only encourage local businesses to collaborate and take advantage of the services available on their doorstep but to also attract attention from further afield.

This year’s event is expected to be bigger and better with space secured for more exhibitors. If you’re an Aire Valley business owner, you can join us as an exhibitor and use your stand to showcase your business, raise brand awareness, network and generate new leads.

We also invite business owners and decision makers from Bingley and beyond to attend. Delegates will have the opportunity to liaise directly with exhibitors, connect with fellow visitors and most importantly, forge valuable working relationships.

Our chosen charity for September’s event is Manorlands Hospice who provide incredible palliative care and complementary therapy services to support people with life-limiting conditions. Last year, we raised £400 for The Danny Jones Defibrillator Fund.

Tips on Tuesday

We’d really like to talk about how valuable LinkedIn groups can be.

LinkedIn Groups

Whatever your sector, find and get involved with relevant industry groups.  LinkedIn groups are a great way of making connections whilst discussing current issues and learning new ideas.  They are a really valuable way of online networking, which will hopefully create and nurture new and important relationships.

Being actively involved in a group will mean you get noticed; and of course getting our business noticed is what we all hope to achieve!

Tips on Tuesday

If you really would like to become an industry influencer on Twitter, consider hosting a Twitter chat.

Chat

A Twitter chat is a live event where people include a hashtag in their tweets to discuss a particular topic.

remember to keep your hashtags short and punchy, and make people aware in advance the chat is coming.  It is a great way to really connect with people on Twitter and share your industry expertise whilst really giving off an approachable and helpful vibe.

Give it a whirl!

Tips on Tuesday

Today’s tip is really simple.

MAKE CONNECTIONS.  And that is really it.  In every part of our life we need connections to grow and succeed – and the advent of social media has really make it easy for us to grow our business connections.

Build a network quote

If you’re more of a face to face networker then find your place to make those valuable connections.

Join us tomorrow at the Bingley Business Expo to make some amazing local relationships.

Do not underestimate the power that can be gained by gaining a new connection.

Tips on Tuesday

Today’s Tip on Tuesday is looking at how valuable a resource LinkedIn can be if used correctly.

LinkedIn LogoLinkedIn is slightly different from other social media channels in that it is more geared towards B2B and freelancers making professional contacts.  In that case it is far more important to keep a more professional tone on LinkedIn.  That isn’t to say you can’t use humour, but keep it light.

You can use your other social media channels to showcase the fun side of you or your business but LinkedIn is about sharing valuable advice between experts and professionals.  Don’t be afraid to do so!

Tips on Tuesday

There wasn’t really anything else we could talk about today on Tips on Tuesday – a generic tip to help you out on all your social media channels.

Heart picture

So today’s tip is, if you like what someone is doing on social media TELL them.  Everyone likes to know they’re impressing someone, so whether it is another business, or an individual pop a comment on.  It is a great way of making links and you can be sure that if you say to someone “hey, we love what you’re doing here”, they will look at your profile and take the time to reciprocate.

Happy social media love in all!

Tips on Tuesday

For today’s Tip on Tuesday we’re going to make a suggestion for LinkedIn.

LinkedIn Logo for Aire Media

Do remember that LinkedIn has a facility where you can join groups relevant to your sector and chat with other professionals.  LinkedIn is slightly different from other social media platforms in that it is geared towards business use only, In fact it is marketed as “the world’s largest professional network”. As such it is a valuable resource for discussing ideas, sharing expertise and above all making good business links.

Have a search today for some groups that seem pertinent to your line of business and join in!  Share your best tips or ask a question.  You will soon see how easy it is to participate in online networking!

Tips on Tuesday

A more positive Tip than last week’s today and one that can apply to all your social media marketing (and indeed can be extrapolated to apply to your full marketing plan).

Audit image Aire Media

Our Tip on Tuesday today is do a regular audit of your marketing strategy.  Don’t be satisfied with simply posting on social media, regularly take the time to find out what works well, what doesn’t work so well and whether any of your posts created problems.

In order to keep a fresh and vibrant social media presence you need to ensure your profiles are the best they can be, so do take time once a month to review and reflect and make those changes to keep you ahead of the game.

See you next week – and happy reviewing!

Tips on Tuesday

Today’s tip is a bit more generic than usual but an important one we think.

Aire Media Word Cloud

Today we would like to impress upon you all the benefits of digital marketing.   A small part of digital marketing is social media which gives you the chance to reach a large market.  And best of all, if your budget is small you can – with careful usage – do this for free!

Social media is a free, instantly accessible global market.  And the best thing is that it is measurable with analytics tools, so you can see whether what you’re doing is working and what you need to change or do better.

Even if you don’t have a large marketing budget do make sure you tap into the digital marketing sector and get yourselves online, out there and be a global brand.

See you next week!

Tips on Tuesday

Today’s tip is specific to Twitter.

Today we’re going to suggest to all smaller businesses to get involved with local hours on Twitter.  These tend to be a weekly event, usually lasting an hour and curated under the umbrella of a single parent account.

These hours are very useful as a free networking tool and very easy to become involved in.   So have a search, see whether there are any you can become involved in and if not start your own!  We definitely recommend taking the time to see what wonderful opportunities to find out about other local businesses these hours give you.

Some of the hours local to us at Aire Media are: –

#ilkleyhour – Monday 7-8pm

#otleyhour – Thursday 7-8pm

#yorkshirehour – Wednesday 8-9pm

#skiptonhour – Tuesday 9-10pm

#bradfordhour – Thursday 8-9pm

#bingleyhour – Tuesday 8-9pm

It is our very first time currating #bingleyhour tonight.  Find us at @BingleyHour or via @Aire_Media and come and get involved!
