Tips on Tuesday

You know what they say about first impressions, and your social media profile picture is the online equivalent of a first impression!

Perfect image

Is there such a thing as the perfect profile picture?  Probably not, but excellence is the next best thing!

Simply, use your logo in a size to fit into the space!  Your profile picture needs to be instantly recognisable, even at fairly small-scale and of good resolution.  If you logo is too large or the wrong shape to work well as a profile shot, consider creating a smaller version of part of your logo for social media purposes.

The key is consistency across all your branding.  Use the same image as a profile shot across all your social media channels.

If you have an event coming up, why not consider Live Streaming your event across social media?

Time

A live stream can be a really fun way of engaging with your followers, and gives people an opportunity to be at an event they can’t physically attend.

However, the process can also be expensive and difficult.  A cheaper and easier option is to cover the event with real-time updates throughout, giving the key points and ensuring your followers stay in the loop.  Whilst not quite the same as live-streaming, real-time updates can be beneficial especially to those who cannot access videos at the relevant time.

Have a think about adding real-time updates or live-streaming to your social strategy!

Did you know it is just 10 weeks tomorrow until Christmas Day (sorry….sorry!)

Christmas

Use your time wisely! Make sure you have relevant social media goals for the next 10 weeks with a firm idea of what you want to achieve before Christmas.  As always given the time constraints, make sure your goals are achievable!

Don’t be afraid to share your company’s Christmas traditions across social media – giving yourself a little more personality at this time of year can be a really good thing.

It is also important to schedule in a break! Don’t be afraid to take some time off from your social media schedule over the festive season, with a view to coming back refreshed and ready to go in January!

You have 10 weeks….how are YOU going to use them?
