A flying visit to Facebook today, for our weekly social media tip.

Business pages give you the opportunity to fill in what Facebook calls “Our Story”, which is a space on your business homepage where you can give a little more detail about your business and what services or products you offer.

Facebook Story ImageWe think filling this in with some interesting information about you and your business is a great way of giving a really finished looked to your business homepage.  And let’s face it, who doesn’t love another free way of getting your message out there; after all, isn’t that what social media is about?!

We have spoken at length the importance of having a social media strategy in place as part of your overall marketing strategy.

However that doesn’t mean that this strategy should be set in stone and never deviated from.

Don’t be afraid to try something spontaneous – remember with the various analytical tools available on social media channels, you can see which posts work and which aren’t so successful.

We use our social media strategy as a base; a starting point from which we create our online presence not a finite document.

When examining your social media performance, ask yourself how many people are talking about your brand voluntarily.

Whether that’s be leaving reviews, recommending you on social media platforms or even responding to your social media posts it is an important way of ascertaining how your posts are working.

When posting ask yourself what value your posts will bring to other people, not what they can do for you.  By bringing value you will encourage people to follow and interact with you.
