Your tagline doesn’t need to be long, simply a few snappy lines giving any readers an insight into what you do.

To insert a tagline, visit your company page and hit the small pen icon to edit.  You can then upload your description which will then appear right on your home page.

Everyone knows that Instagram is THE platform for the use of the hashtag, but what is the ideal number to use?

Instagram currently allows up to 30 hashtags in your original caption, but current evidence suggests that the optimum number to use is 11.  By this point engagement levels have peaked and then fall away.

Oh, and use your most important hashtags first! Your followers are unlikely to read them all, so make sure they do read what you really want to say!

It can be difficult when you’re starting out on social media to know what content works and what doesn’t and finding the right content to share is half the battle.

Don’t be afraid to check what your established competitors are doing.  Obviously you don’t want to copy them, but you can certainly get a feel of what content they find successful and use that to help your own strategy.

Once you’re sharing your own ideas, you can roughly gauge if the content works by checking: –

  • Did it have any positive likes or interaction?
  • Did anyone recycle your content or share it on their timeline?
  • Did anyone acknowledge you as a source.

Don’t be afraid to experiment with differing content styles until you find your niche.

If you have the type of business where you want people to physically attend a certain event, do try out this tool.  Whether you’re hosting a one-off event, would like people to attend on the first day of a sale, or even just arranging a get together, “Events” is a great way of creating a bit of a buzz surrounding your business and monitoring attendees.

As with all tools on Facebook you can either use it organically, or simply add a small budget to boost your post to reach a wider audience. 

Why not give it a try and see what response you get.  Remember Facebook is all about fostering interaction, and this could be a great way to start a conversation!
