Tips on Tuesday

Today’s Tip on Tuesday is small but beautifully formed and can be applied to all your social media channels.

Image of all social media iconsProfile pictures are wonderful – they’re your online shop window.  Each time you make a post on any of your channels, your profile picture will appear.

It is really important to make sure that not only is your profile shot the correct size for each platform (you can follow our handy guide to image sizes)but that your photograph is clear in a smaller size.  It is no good having your logo as a profile shot if it is simply a little blurry square, you want people to know it is you posting!

Tips on Tuesday

Today’s tip is something that can be applied to all your social media channels.

Scheduling tools can be a very valuable resource when you’re managing a number of social media accounts and mean that you can ensure you have a presence even when it is impossible for you to be online.

However, it is vital to ensure that you also maintain a live online presence – don’t rely on scheduling tools to do it all for you.  Ensure you regularly login to all your social media accounts to deal with queries, to make use of industry specific current affairs and to make it appear that your account has a personality.  It is really easy to tell which social media accounts are done solely via scheduling.

Tips on Tuesday

For today’s tip on Tuesday we’re looking at your online presence in general.

We think it’s really important to share your good news.  If someone leaves you a great review, share it.  If one of your employees wins an award or does something really special, then share it.

Keeping a human (and happy!) face to your social media and online postings will help you build a warm and positive brand which people will notice.

We don’t believe in no news is good news; we believe in YOUR news is good news!

Tips on Tuesday

A little bit of LinkedIn chat for today’s tip.

LinkedIn Logo

LinkedIn is about quality not quantity.  We have posted in the past about making sure your profile is up to date (which you can read HERE)but it is equally important to keep your profile smart and interesting.  Countless paragraphs will put people who want to connect with you off.  Make your descriptions snappy; make it easy for people to find out all the brilliant things you can do!

Tips on Tuesday

For today’s Tip we’re going to share a generic social media tip.

Don’t forget to have your website linked from your social media profile and vice versa.  You want to make it easy for people to find you – don’t make them work for it!  Make sure your social media channels are linked from your website (and do ensure they open in a new tab/window!) and make sure your social media profiles contain at the very least an obvious website link.

Don’t be bashful – be seen!

Tips on Tuesday

During our Tips on Tuesday segment we like to give as many helpful tips as possible surrounding digital marketing and social media.  Today’s tip is a generic one covering all your social media channels.

Image of all social media iconsIf you have a social media presence, don’t forget to put your social media handles on your marketing literature!

Have them on your business cards, flyers, website etc.  If you have a presence you want to use it and drive people to find you.  Don’t make potential clients or customers work to find you.  Make it easy for them and it will pay off!

Tips on Tuesday

There wasn’t really anything else we could talk about today on Tips on Tuesday – a generic tip to help you out on all your social media channels.

Heart picture

So today’s tip is, if you like what someone is doing on social media TELL them.  Everyone likes to know they’re impressing someone, so whether it is another business, or an individual pop a comment on.  It is a great way of making links and you can be sure that if you say to someone “hey, we love what you’re doing here”, they will look at your profile and take the time to reciprocate.

Happy social media love in all!

Tips on Tuesday

In January we have been looking at the importance of organisation in respect of your social media and digital marketing programmes in our Tips on Tuesday segment.  In previous posts we have look at the need to organise your schedule, the importance of allocating roles effectively, an emphasis on reviewing your programme, and the crucial checking for notifications!

For our final tip in this series we’re going to remind you of the importance of knowing what other members of your team have posted!  There’s nothing more off-putting to your followers than having the same content posted repeatedly.  If you lose a follower you will have to work very hard to try to get them back!

Keep it unique, make it interesting and you can’t go far wrong!

Tips on Tuesday

January seems to be flying by at an alarming rate and we hope you’re putting into practice our advice from our new year series on Organisation.  The first parts of the series can be found HERE (where we talk about organising your schedule), HERE (where we discuss allocating roles effectively) and HERE (where we look at reviewing your processes).

For today’s tip we’re advising you to make sure you ALWAYS find time to check social media for notifications.

We advise spending a few minutes each day just checking to see whether you have any notifications on your social media channels.  This doesn’t need to be scheduled into your social media plan as it can be somewhat of a moveable feast, but its important that you regularly check and respond to those that need responding to.

You don’t want to miss out on potential clients by missing them contacting you on your social media.

We’ll be back next week with the final of our January tips .

Tips on Tuesday

As you know for Tips on Tuesday throughout January we’re working on an organisation theme, the first two tips can be found HERE and HERE.

Image of definition of organisation

Continuing with the theme to help you aim for an efficient and effective 2017, our tip today is review.  Whilst it is so important to actually have a social media presence, it is equally important to know that you’re doing it right.  A poor executed social media account can be as off-putting to potential customers as not having one at all.

Schedule regular reviews throughout the year to look into what you’re doing, find out which posts performed best and play with your upcoming posts to do more of the same.  If you find a post that didn’t work well, try to determine why so you can avoid making the same mistake!

Keep your content crisp and effective to be noticed.
