Tips on Tuesday

Remember to make your social media channels work for you.

Drive Traffic

Don’t be afraid to use your social media accounts to drive people to where you want them to be! Want a customer to see your pictures on Instagram?  Tell them about it on Twitter.  Need your customers to visit your website?  Share a link on Facebook.

Social media channels work best if you utilise them as a package; none exist in a vacuum and for maximum impact you need maximum exposure!

Tips on Tuesday

Today’s tip, whilst mainly in reference to social media, can be used more widely in your marketing plans.

Binoculars

Don’t be afraid to check out what your competitors are doing on their social media feeds.  Whilst of course we don’t advocate copying them, take a look into their posting history to find out: –

  • The content they post
  • Who they follow
  • Who’s following them
  • How often they post
  • Their most popular posts

Use the information you gather to mix up your social media schedule a little to see if it makes a difference to your engagement and reach.

Tips on Tuesday

We’ve mentioned this tip in part before, but we’re going to extend it a little here.

We’ve often emphasised how important it is to ensure there are no errors in your social media postings; but it’s really important that you apply that to your website too.

Your website is, in effect, a shop window.  If it is littered with spelling errors, then you’re already fighting an uphill battle to get customers to engage with you.

Copy and paste all the text from your website into a programme like Word (other programmes are available!) and make sure your spelling, grammar and punctuation are perfect!

Tips on Tuesday

When you’re posting on any of your social media channels it is important you post with your voice!!

Don’t post as you think you should, post to give value.  If you’re not posting honestly, it will be obvious and will not have the desired effect of gaining followers and converting those followers into customers.  Whilst imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, it also isn’t allowing YOUR voice to be heard.

Find your authentic voice and use it to build your brand.

This isn’t the first time we’ve given this tip, but it is probably the most important so we’re going to bang the drum again.

If you haven’t got a social media presence, make it your number one priority in your plans for the start of 2018 to have one!  Did you know over 60% of SMEs have made a sale using leads made via their social media.

Don’t miss out on potential great clients for the sake of not using social media.  Nobody can choose to use your services if they can’t see you!

Tips on Tuesday

One of the most important things you will ever learn when you’re starting to market your business is that you can’t be seen if you can’t be found!

Having that all important online presence is an absolute must.  However, make sure people can find you once you’re live; make your usernames intuitive and simple and, most importantly, relating to your company name.  Make the search easy – if you can’t be seen then you can’t be heard!

Tips on Tuesday

Today’s Tip is a general marketing tip for any business.

We think it’s really important to share your good news.  If someone leaves you a great review, share it.  If one of your employees wins an award or does something really special, then share it.

Keeping a human (and happy!) face to your social media and online postings will help you build a warm and positive brand which people will notice.

We don’t believe in no news is good news; we believe in YOUR news is good news!

Tips on Tuesday

For today’s Tip we’re encouraging you to make use of every aspect of your business page on Facebook.

Facebook Aire Media Blog

For Facebook business pages you can turn on the Review feature, which means customers can quickly leave you reviews – based on a 1-5 star system – and even add a comment.

Why not ask your clients to leave a review for you – it is a really quick way of them telling people how good their experience was, and as more people use Facebook for finding business; a great way of encouraging new customers to try you out!

Tips on Tuesday

For today’s tip we’re going to give you a little bit of Facebook advice!

Facebook Aire Media BlogDon’t forget to make use of the Call to Action button on Facebook!   The time any potential new customer spends on a business page is fleeting so there are two main rules – make your content engaging and make it easy to get in touch with you.

The Call to Action button has a number of options from booking appointments to simply getting in touch; so you can select the one that works best for you.  But make sure you do select one, even if it is only a link to a contact page on a website.  Make it easy for the customer and they will respond by getting in touch!
