Tips on Tuesday

There wasn’t really anything else we could talk about today on Tips on Tuesday – a generic tip to help you out on all your social media channels.

Heart picture

So today’s tip is, if you like what someone is doing on social media TELL them.  Everyone likes to know they’re impressing someone, so whether it is another business, or an individual pop a comment on.  It is a great way of making links and you can be sure that if you say to someone “hey, we love what you’re doing here”, they will look at your profile and take the time to reciprocate.

Happy social media love in all!

Tips on Tuesday

In January we have been looking at the importance of organisation in respect of your social media and digital marketing programmes in our Tips on Tuesday segment.  In previous posts we have look at the need to organise your schedule, the importance of allocating roles effectively, an emphasis on reviewing your programme, and the crucial checking for notifications!

For our final tip in this series we’re going to remind you of the importance of knowing what other members of your team have posted!  There’s nothing more off-putting to your followers than having the same content posted repeatedly.  If you lose a follower you will have to work very hard to try to get them back!

Keep it unique, make it interesting and you can’t go far wrong!

Tips on Tuesday

As you know for Tips on Tuesday throughout January we’re working on an organisation theme, the first two tips can be found HERE and HERE.

Continuing with the theme to help you aim for an efficient and effective 2017, our tip today is review.  Whilst it is so important to actually have a social media presence, it is equally important to know that you’re doing it right.  A poor executed social media account can be as off-putting to potential customers as not having one at all.

Schedule regular reviews throughout the year to look into what you’re doing, find out which posts performed best and play with your upcoming posts to do more of the same.  If you find a post that didn’t work well, try to determine why so you can avoid making the same mistake!

Keep your content crisp and effective to be noticed.

Tips on Tuesday

We’re back bright-eyed and bushy-tailed and ready to jump straight into our Tips on Tuesday segment.

For January we’re going to be giving general tips to get you back into the mindset of achieving as much as you can from your online presence.

Our very first tip of 2017 is…….organisation!

Image of definition of organisation

Take time in your first week of the year to have a think about your online presence.  Make a basic schedule of when you’d like to make posts on social media, schedule when you have important announcements to make or when you want your marketing campaigns to begin, have a think about what national events or industry specific events are coming up that you want to tap into.

Although it feels like you have a huge blank page ahead, making some basic plans now will mean that your time will be more efficiently spent throughout the year and most importantly you won’t overlook your social media presence during busy times.

Today’s tip is a generic social media tip.

And our social media tip is……..have it!  Whilst you make not think you need a social media presence, it is too good a free market to remain untapped.

The average person has five social media accounts and spends a whopping 1 hour and 40 minutes browsing these accounts every day so if that person happens to stumble across your brand whilst they’re browsing……there’s a potential for free advertising right there!

Tips on Tuesday

For today’s tip we’re going to give an important piece of advice about Twitter.

TwitterTipsAireMedia

Make sure you make the most of Twitter by following people relevant to your sector.  From local organisations to industry leaders it is really important to forge relationships and find out what other people in your industry are saying!

Interact with the people you follow – you will find your own followers start to increase as you become more involved with other people in your industry.

Tips on Tuesday

For today’s tip we’re going to have a look at Facebook.

Whilst the nature of Facebook lends itself to lengthier posts than most of its social media rivals, just remember volume isn’t everything!

Whilst you can make use of the longer space, only write what you need to.  Don’t let your message get lost in verbose posts.  Some of the best posts – whilst slightly longer than what you might find on Twitter – are snappy and to the point.

Make your message count and be seen.

Tips on Tuesday

For this week we’re going to have a look at Twitter

TwitterTipsAireMediaIf you’re using a Twitter account for business purposes it is really important that whoever is using the account is consistent in tone.  Remember your account is in effect the company and so its important to maintain a constant and professional presence at all times.

Even if the account is managed by different staff, make sure they’re all clear about how you want the account to be used and what is and isn’t appropriate!  The public will only see the company, not the different people who are behind the avatar so keep it neutral, informative and polite.

For today’s Tip on Tuesday we are visiting LinkedIn.

In a previous Tip on Tuesday (which you can read here) we spoke about the important of your company profile on LinkedIn.

In addition, we really want to emphasise how important your personal profile is on LinkedIn, especially if you’re the face of the business.

Make sure your bio is snappy and informative, make sure all your contact information is up to date and that all your experience is reflected.

It is pointless having an amazing company profile if your personal profile lets you down.  You want to wow potential contacts and make them want to get in touch to use your services!

Tips on Tuesday

For today’s tip we’re going to take a look at Facebook profiles

Facebook Aire Media BlogIt is really important to ensure that your company information is as complete as possible on Facebook.  A lot of people think because it is “only” Facebook that this doesn’t matter, but it makes a good impression and is a free and easy way of getting all your relevant information in the public domain.

Make sure your profile includes your website address, your location, your opening hours and a concise description of what your business does.  It is also important that when you’re choosing the relevant business type you choose the most appropriate.

Remember a good Facebook profile makes a good first impression!  It also makes it easy for your customers and potential customers to find you.  Isn’t that great?!
