As we continue to wind down the year by prepping for next, it’s the best time to consider your social media strategy.

Repeat imageDon’t be afraid to repeat what works!

Over time you will notice patterns as to what content gets the most favourable response.  A good response shows good engagement, which is what you’re aiming for.  Use the analytics you have available to note which posts work best and repeat that type of posting.  Make social media work for you!

When you’re populating your social media feeds, don’t be afraid to deviate from your plans.

We’re big fans of creating social media plans – whether you choose to do that weekly, monthly or even yearly – however it’s important to remember that a plan is just an intention of activity!

Don’t feel constrained by what you wrote in your plan – it can be so important – and beneficial to you – to be spontaneous on social media.  Keep an eye on what’s happening around you and get involved, don’t avoid interesting content because it doesn’t appear at the “right” time!

Hopefully you’re reading this following a restful festive break and you’re ready to really get stuck into 2019!

At this time of year we like to make a rough schedule of our social media marketing plan for the year; think about promotions you might like to run, any events you’re going to be attending and schedule in social media posts for these.

Whilst we never make a firm social media calendar – after all social media is reactive – we like to have some content pencilled in.  Somehow it makes planning for the year a lot less scary when you KNOW you have things to talk about!
